I Can't Warm Up To A Glock

Glocks are reliable to a fault, accurate, sturdy, and easy to use. So, why can't I bring myself to like them?

They look like a block. I mean, take a look at a Glock. They're not pretty, but they're not ugly. They're just there.

It's not like I have something against utilitarian guns. An AR15 isn't a thing of beauty, but I love mine. My Remington 700P won't win any beauty queen pageants, either, but it's a fantastic rifle for cloverleaf groups.

Kimber even makes ugly pistols that are appealing. The Kimber Pro Carry is as no-frills as you can get, but it still looks like a gun.

Or is it that the 1911 is the quintessential semi-auto pistol, as the Colt Single Action Army is to what people think a revolver should look like?

HK, Beretta  and other manufacturers make utilitarian pistols that still are somehow appealing. Even the Springfield XD, while plain as can be, still has some panache.

But a Glock is a block.

Sorry, but that's the way I see it.
